#WalangPasok; Class suspensions on October 17, 2016, Monday Due to Typhoon Karen (Sarika)

MANILA, Philippines – Class suspensions (#WalangPasok) on October 17, 2016, Monday, due to typhoon Karen were announced today.

The ongoing onslaught of Typhoon Karen (Sarika), has prompted the announcement of the following class suspensions in affected area. Karen had made landfall on Sunday at 2:30 A.M. over Baler, Aurora.

No classes on October 17, 2016, Monday

, in the following schools:

• Muntinlupa City – ALL LEVELS, public and private schools.
• Nueva Ecija – ALL LEVELS, public and private schools.
• Mandaluyong City – ALL LEVELS, public and private schools.

 Marikina City - NSTP classes scheduled on Oct. 16, 2016 are canceled.

Class Suspensions for August 16, 2016, Tuesday #WalangPasok

MANILA, Philippines - Due to heavy monsoon rains, class suspensions continue up to August 16, 2016, Tuesday in the following schools.


• City of San Fernando, Pampanga - ALL LEVELS
• Guiguinto, Bulacan – ALL LEVELS, public and private
• Malolos City, Bulacan – ALL LEVELS, public and private
• Paombong, Bulacan - ALL LEVELS
• Calasiao, Pangasinan – ALL LEVELS
• Dagupan City, Pangasinan – ALL LEVELS
• Pampanga – Pre-school, senior high school, public and private schools
*San Mateo, Rizal - Pre-school to elementary, public schools only
*Bugallon, Pangasinan - ALL LEVELS
*Rodriguez, Rizal - Pre-school, high school
*        * Pangasinan Province – ALL LEVELS, public and private

Meanwhile, “Angeles City” trended on Twitter as students react to Mayor Ed Pamintuan’s announcement that “Classes in all levels in Angeles City will resume tomorrow, August 16, 2016, Tuesday."

People in low lying areas are advised to evacuate to higher grounds as floods continue to wreak havoc.

Meanwhile, eyewitnesses had reported a whirlwind that had occurred for a few minutes in Manila. It had injured a couple of persons and had destroyed some houses.

As the inclement weather continues, more reports on the extent of damages are expected to come in.
