QUOTATIONS TO PONDER ON

"Who will tell whether one happy moment of love or the joy of breathing or walking on a bright morning and smelling the fresh air, is not worth all the suffering and effort which life implies."

From : Erich Fromm

"Love is the beauty of the soul."
By: Saint Augustine

"I always prefer to believe the best of everybody, it saves so much trouble."
By: Rudyard Kipling

"Remember the two benefits of failure. First, if you do fail, you learn what doesn't work; and second, the failure gives you the opportunity to try a new approach."

"Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.
But the fact that some geniuses were laughed at does not imply that all who are laughed at are geniuses. They laughed at Columbus, they laughed at Fulton, they laughed at the Wright brothers. But they also laughed at Bozo the Clown.
It is of interest to note that while some dolphins are reported to have learned English -- up to fifty words used in correct context -- no human being has been reported to have learned dolphinese."

"In order to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first create the universe.
The universe is not required to be in perfect harmony with human ambition.
In science it often happens that scientists say, 'You know that's a really good argument; my position is mistaken,' and then they would actually change their minds and you never hear that old view from them again. They really do it. It doesn't happen as often as it should, because scientists are human and change is sometimes painful. But it happens every day. I cannot recall the last time someting like that happened in politics or religion."

Love the failure quote. Of course, the only true failure is one actually gives up . . . until then, it's just a learning process.

I've always believed there is a reason why the road in front of us is filled with twists and turns. If we could see the length of the journey, or the obstacles in our way, we might never take the first step. So much better to proceed in blind ignorance and blissful wonder.

Thanks for sharing the quotes. I enjoyed them.
